Recent and typical projects by SUSAN BISHOP INTERIORS

The total renovation of a family’s leisure home within a land preserve at Little Compton, RI.  This project involved the gutting of an existing structure, and the complete rebuilding of the kitchen, four bathrooms, three bedrooms, hallway areas and exterior spaces.  We specified all the materials, fixtures, fittings, and colors, and worked very closely with the local custom builder Jacob Talbot

The refurbishment of a new home for a couple with an emptying nest at Madison, CT.  This project involved the planning of furnishings and editing of the couple’s household and art collection, as well as the specification of interior paint colors and floor finishes and the design and fabrication of window treatments.

The total renovation of four bathrooms in a historic Victorian house in Larchmont, NY.  The bathrooms and plumbing had not been significantly improved for 75 years.  This project involved the surgical removal of old walls, floors, and plumbing components; and the sequential reconstruction of each bathroom as a modern and comfortable space.

The comprehensive interior design of a large addition to a historic Colonial house in Pound Ridge, NY. This project involved the design and decoration, including masonry, millwork, cabinetry, paint colors, fixtures and furnishing of a Great Room, a library, three bedrooms, four bathrooms and a mud room/family entrance, and the stair halls and transition to the original areas of the house.

The complete restoration, remodeling, and redecoration of a historic sea captain’s house in the town of Nantucket.  Originally featured on the cover
of “House Beautiful” magazine (June, 1983), and in “Cape Cod Life” (Indian Summer, 1982), we returned to fully redecorate 17 years later following catastrophic water damage.

The total refurnishing and refitting with custom cabinetry of a Park Avenue, New York City apartment.  The apartment owners agreed to an incisive edit of their existing furniture, and to a complete makeover of backgrounds and repurposing of rooms, in order to create a domicile of
serenity and elegance.
